Mazi Notting Hill

This candle lit, Greek restaurant with sharing plates is casual but very charming. Growing up in Australia, a country whose Greek population is only beaten in number by actual Greece, I’m very fond of Greek cooking. It always feels like comfort food to me though so Mazi’s sublime high end take really wowed.

They were perfectly accommodating of two buggies and babies, giving us the first dining area almost exclusively and adventurous little ones will definitely be able to try some of the sharing plates.

What’s good? I really loved the Fish roe mousse tarama jar, the spanakorisotto and the shredded lamb shoulder stifado with potato cream. That potato cream is outrageous. We all made a I CANNOT BELIEVE THIS face on putting it in our mouths. Just wonderful. Like potato dauphinois custard. I cannot.

Kid friendly? Yes. Although their highchairs are for bigger kids and our babies were both shockingly well behaved during this meal perhaps lulling the staff into a false sense of security.
