Jikoni Marylebone

Eating at Jikoni is sort of like going to visit your eccentric bohemian aunt. There’s lots of paisley, incense and throw cushions. It’s quite charming but if your child is old enough to run about, the decor may be too tempting not to tamper with.

The menu is full of really interesting flavour combinations that come from North Africa and Asia and I was delighted by a lot of what I put in my mouth however, the portions aren’t especially large and even ordering from the set menu is a little on the pricey side.

What’s good? The quail scotch eggs with banana ketchup were utterly delightful and the Turkish Delight & Summer Berry Semifreddo with Pashmak (Iranian candy floss) was wonderful.

Kid friendly? Sort of. There’s some outdoor seating so we went with that on this occasion because it seemed a little quiet inside. Max is known to scream his head off when it is quiet and we have learned our lesson.
