The Other Naughty Piglet Victoria

The bigger, bolder, younger sibling of Brixton’s Naughty Piglet, The Other Naughty Piglet is an absolute gem of a restaurant.

We sauntered in without a reservation on a Wednesday afternoon, on the off chance we could access the venue with a buggy. I say on the off chance because I knew it was upstairs at a theatre and I wasn’t sure if there would be a lift, but lo and behold there was.

The dining room is light and spacious and welcoming, elegant but casual. Tulips on the tables and rows and rows of wine bottles decorate the window sills. The menu technically reads as ‘sharing plates’ but we sort of ordered as if it was a tasting menu and to be honest, it’s that level of food. It should just be a tasting menu.

I’d not been out anywhere especially fancy with Max in a while and the longer I leave it, the more the fear that we can’t do it anymore builds. It’s silly because we still totally can. He may be almost walking but he’ll still happily hang out in a highchair as long as there is food on offer, toys to play with and soul music on the stereo.

What’s good? I loooooved the pear, artichoke, hazelnut and blue cheese. The croquettes with a perfect delicate crunch giving way to wonderfully gooey, salty innards were banging too. Nothing was average. We ordered all the desserts and experienced no regrets in regards to that decision.
